Energy-Boosting Essential Oils For Winter

During the winter months, when the days are shorter and the weather is cooler, many people can experience a decrease in energy levels and motivation.

Using essential oils with energizing properties can help combat these seasonal slumps and boost your vitality. Here are some of the oils that are useful for combating this seasonal slump and how to use them.

Peppermint Oil:

Peppermint essential oil is well known for its invigorating and refreshing scent. It can help increase alertness and mental clarity, making it an excellent choice for the winter months when you might be feeling a bit sluggish. Inhaling the vapour from peppermint oil can provide a quick energy boost. It is a strong oil so just a couple of drops on a tissue is enough to make a difference!

Rosemary Oil:

Rosemary essential oil is known for its stimulating properties. It can improve focus and concentration, making it a valuable oil for staying productive during the darker winter days. Diffusing rosemary oil in your workspace can help keep you alert!

Lemon Oil:

Lemon essential oil has a bright and citrusy scent that can help uplift your mood and increase energy levels. It's known for its refreshing properties, and gently inhaling lemon oil can help combat the winter blues.

Here's how to make your own natural air freshener with essential oils.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of distilled water

2 tablespoons of vodka or rubbing alcohol (surgical spirit from the pharmacy)

10 to 15 drops of essential oils (e.g. lavender, lemon or rosemary)

Instructions:

Mix the vodka or rubbing alcohol with the essential oils in
a small spray bottle.

Add the distilled water and shake well to combine.

Spray the homemade air freshener in any room to freshen the air and feel more energized.
